Horizon MI View Set-Up Troubleshooting Guide

If the Horizon MI View workstation does not meet the specifications required to install or update, the action may fail but may not be able to give an error message. The following sections describe problem areas and, where possible, explain how to check or modify the settings on your computer.

- Administrator
- Download Manager
- Web browser security settings
- Firewall
- Certificate Publishers
- System and display requirements

Administrator

To install or update Horizon MI View, ensure that your user name is assigned the Windows® 2000 or XP Administrator user role.

If you had previously installed and used MI View but it will now not open, it may be the case that a certain kind of update needs to be installed.

Please contact your system administrator.

Download Manager

To install Horizon MI View, ensure that any third-party download manager software you may have installed on your computer is disabled or overridden during Horizon MI View installation.

Web browser security settings

Horizon MI View requires that certain scripts and ActiveX® controls are run and/or installed on your computer. Scripts and controls need to be run initially during Horizon MI View installation, and also while you are using Horizon MI View. The following types of messages are displayed:

  • Security warning indicating that you need to install an ActiveX® component on the computer.

To change the Windows® Internet Explorer security settings:

1. On the Windows® Internet Explorer menu bar, click Tools, and then select Internet Options.
The Internet Options dialog box is displayed.

Firewall

A firewall is a set of related software and hardware that protects a private computer or network from users from other networks, usually from the Internet. It allows only specific kinds of messages to flow in and out of the internal network, so may silently block the ActiveX controls that are required by MI View, and prevent set-up.

If you have a personal firewall on your computer (for example, Zone Alarm), ensure that it is not blocking ActiveX controls or blocking content from the network address where MI View is located.

If you suspect that there is a firewall on your intranet that may be preventing the successful set-up of MI View please contact your system administrator.

Certificate Publishers

This section applies to clients running Windows XP Service Pack 2 only.

McKesson digitally signs each ActiveX control that needs to be downloaded, to ensure that it is safe to run on your computer. If set-up does not complete successfully, verify that “McKesson Information Solutions, LLC” is not listed in your “Untrusted Publishers” list by performing the following steps in Internet Explorer:

  1. In the Tools menu, choose Internet Options.
  2. Select the Content tab.
  3. In the Certificates section, click on the button labelled Publishers.
  4. Select the Untrusted Publishers tab.
  5. If there is an entry issued to McKesson Information Solutions, LLC, then click once on that line to highlight it and click the Remove button.
